Office of Environmental Health
Food Facility Inspection Program

Walk in

All food service operations in Talbot County are required to be licensed in accordance with Maryland laws and regulations. All new facilities and facilities wishing to add or replace equipment or structurally remodel must submit plans for review and approval prior to construction or alteration.

All food service facilities, including restaurants, cafeterias, grocery stores, convenience stores, etc., are inspected. Facilities are divided into categories of priority based upon the types of foods served, and are inspected according to schedules established in Code of Maryland regulations 10.15.03. Complaints regarding food safety are investigated.

Temporary events, such as carnivals, fairs, farmer’s markets, and non-profit fundraising events, are also permitted and may be inspected.
