BrucePac Recalls Ready-To-Eat Meat and Poultry Products Due to Possible Listeria Contamination

Public health authorities are urging Americans to check their fridges and freezers after over 11 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products were recalled due to potential listeria contamination. The recall, initiated by Oklahoma-based company BrucePac, affects products shipped to grocery stores, restaurants, schools, and other institutions nationwide. Listeria was detected during routine testing by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), prompting the recall of products from popular brands like Fresh Express, Boston Market, and Home Chef. Consumers are advised to discard affected items, identifiable by establishment numbers “51205” or “P-51205.” No confirmed reports of illness have been linked to the products, but the bacteria can pose serious risks, particularly to vulnerable groups such as pregnant individuals and those with weakened immune systems.
