*After hours, on-call service is provided for emergency situations related to but not limited to the following: Pet or human exposure to wildlife, Bite or Scratch from pets to humans; Reports of Illegal Open Burning; Complaints of unlawful discharge of sewage to the ground surface, or waters of the State. Staff may be reached after hours by calling the Talbot County Operations Center at (410) 822-0095. The Dispatcher will then contact the staff member on call.*
Public Swimming Pools and Spas
Public pools and spas are required to be licensed annually and inspected routinely by this office during pool/spa operation.
An annual pre-opening inspection must be conducted prior to the renewal of a pool or spa’s operating permit. The inspection will not be completed until the following documents and applicable fee(s) have been submitted. See fee schedule.
LICENSE APPLICATIONS AND FORMS
**Please provide copies of Certified Pool Operators’ certificates with application.**
NEW CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION & REPLACEMENT
All plans for new construction and/or proposed alterations to a regulated swimming pool or spa must be submitted for review and approval to the Maryland Department of Health, Office of Consumer Health & Safety.
