The Prevention Office also oversees the Talbot County Cigarette Restitution Fund, which offers tobacco prevention education/information and smoking cessation support.

Our smoking cessation program is FREE to Talbot County residents, regardless of income or insurance. Cessation medications, including Chantix, bupropion, nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges are offered FREE to those with consent from a physician. We offer individual support and counseling.

Tobacco Prevention and Education
Mini-grants are available to Talbot County schools, community, and faith-based organizations to implement tobacco education programs and activities. Grants are reviewed on a rolling basis between July 1st and June 30th each year. To apply for a grant, please use the online application or contact the Prevention Office for more information.
Tobacco Sales to Minors Enforcement/Synar
Enforcing tobacco youth access laws is an important component in preventing and reducing youth tobacco use. Educating youth about tobacco laws and providing education and training to tobacco retailers is key.
