Jump to:

The Talbot County Health Department seeks to reduce the number of cancer deaths in our community through education, screening, and treatment. Our program offers colorectal screenings and education on colorectal, breast, cervical and skin cancers.

For more information about how to access screening and education, please call the Health Department at (410) 819-5600.

Colorectal Screenings

To be eligible for the colorectal screenings, an individual must be age 45 and older, unless they are symptomatic or have a family history of colorectal cancer. Additionally, income limits may apply.

Intake and registration for qualified individuals is done by appointment at the Health Department’s offices. Call to discuss eligibility or to make an appointment at (410) 819-5600. Translation services are available.

The screening services are provided by contracted local medical professionals in their facilities. Cologuard may also be used as a screening tool where appropriate. Cologuard is an in-home screening option.
